Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position) 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior Midwife or LMC to join the midwifery team as a midwife specialist, focusing on vulnerable women.

This position will give you the opportunity to use and extend your clinical expertise providing leadership and support to midwives and the wider multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team where pregnant women have additional social, mental and cultural needs to optimise their own and their babies health and wellbeing.

This position will provide midwifery expertise on improving health outcomes for vulnerable women and their babies through a strengths based - whanau centred approach prioritising the needs of Tangata Whenua to improve equity-based outcomes.

Usual working hours will be between Monday - Friday.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

You will have NZMC registration and a current practising certificate as well as at least 5 years clinical practice, including experience working with women from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. You with be familiar with Te Tiriti, Kaupapa Māori and Te Ao Māori, and also have knowledge and empathy for biculturalism in which our clients deem as culturally safe. Postgraduate education in these areas, or a willingness to develop further in this area would be an advantage.
