The Marlborough Health and Wellbeing Apprenticeship Programme

We are delighted to announce a new Marlborough Apprenticeship Programme for people interested in joining the Healthcare industry.  Earn, learn and decide if the industry suits you.  We currently have a vacancy for a 12 month apprenticeship to become a Healthcare Assistant.

The role is focussed on learning how to support doctors and nurses working in a busy General Practice.  You will experience all aspects of Healthcare from learning about health monitoring (e.g. taking blood pressures, ECGs, blood tests), through to prevention (e.g. ensuring patients have had vaccines and routine follow ups).  You will also learn about medicine stocks, ordering and storage protocols.

Each month you will learn a new range of skillls in the practice and you will follow the cycle as the year progresses.  You will have both formal training (NCEA qualifications in Healthcare/First Aid etc), plus on-the job learning.

No experience is required just enthusiasm and a desire to learn about one of New Zealand’s fastest growing sectors. Full training and qualifications are provided and there is potential of a permanent role at the end of the programme.  Full- time (40 hours) or part-time (32 hours+) Monday-Friday.  For more information please contact Celia Daniels on 021-468691 or to apply please send your CV and cover letter to celia.daniels@nmdhb.govt.nz
