Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

We are looking for a telephone operator, to work on a casual basis, for our busy (24/7) call centre at Nelson Hospital. This is a diverse role where no two days are the same. It will be important that you have the flexibility to work across a range of shifts, sometimes at short notice, between the hours of: 0700 to 1530, 1500 to 23:00 and 23:00 to 0700. Some forward planning will be available when covering scheduled leave.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

To succeed in this role you will have a bright, friendly and outgoing personality with great interpersonal skills and a strong customer service focus. You will be highly organised and efficient with the ability to multitask and handle pressure.

We expect intermediate computer skills, ideally with PC based switchboard experience. However, we will consider applications from those without switchboard experience, where an aptitude for this type of work can be demonstrated, as full training will be given.

Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed their primary course of two NZ approved COVID-19 vaccinations as they have direct contact with patients and members of the public.
