About the Role

As a Telephone Operator, you will be busy (24/7) working in a call centre environment answering the phones, covering after-hours reception duties, interacting with the public and dealing with emergency situations.

This is a permanent, part-time position working 32 hours per fortnight (0.4 FTE), with rostered and rotating shifts Monday to Sunday. Specific start and finish times within this period will be agreed between you and your manager, consistent both with the terms and conditions of the Employment Agreement and the hours/rosters worked in the department. From time to time, it will be necessary to change the agreed hours of work. If this is required it will be discussed with you in advance. No on-call is required.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team of 13 provide a 24 hour service to all patients, visitors and staff within Health New Zealand Nelson Marlborough. A telephonist in the Call Centre has a diverse role and each shift is different.

About you

As a Telephone Operator, you will have a bright, friendly and outgoing personality with great interpersonal skills and a strong customer service focus. You will be highly organised and efficient with the ability to multitask and remain clam under pressure. 

We expect intermediate computer skills, ideally with PC based switchboard experience. However, we will consider applications from those without switchboard experience, where an aptitude for this type of work can be demonstrated, as full training will be given.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
