About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Registered Nurse with extensive clinical expertise, or a special interest in Stroke care to join our AT&R team on a permanent part-time basis. While the position is based within the AT&R team, the outputs of this role will include working across the wider hospital system and post discharge follow up of stroke and TIA patients.
This role provides clinical expertise and leadership to ensure safe and effective services to individual clients. The role has a key focus on supporting our Stroke population and their whānau. The role includes the teaching of health professionals and facilitation of both formal and informal learning opportunities.
About the Team/Location
As mentioned above while the position is based within the AT&R team, the outputs of this role will include working across the wider Nelson Hospital (ED, MU, MAPU, Surgical Wards and ICCU). You will be sharing office with the ATR Geriatricians, Gerontology Nurse Specialist, Nurse Practitioner and Educators.
About you
- Post-Graduate Diploma in Nursing (or working towards)
- Clinical expertise within acute or rehabilitation Stroke care
- Evidence of attainment of Senior Nurse Level PDRP (or working towards)
- Current registration and annual practising certificate
- Leadership, teamwork and collaboration skills - integral to continuity of service delivery
- Good time management and the ability to manage work in a planned and coordinated manner.
- extensive clinical experience preferably at a senior nurse level
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
- have participated in service and care planning within multidisciplinary teams of professionals, focused on effective delivery of Geriatric and stroke care
