Our team of Sterile Services/Theatre Technicians work in our modern Operating Theatre suite at Nelson Hospital sterilising and processing reusable instruments and equipment for the operating theatres and other hospital departments, as well as assisting nursing teams with patient transportation, theatre cleaning and equipment provision.
We have a permanent part-time position available working 72 hours a fortnight (0.9FTE). Shifts of 8 hours are rostered Monday-Friday, between 0700 and 2030 with an ‘on call’ roster to assist with after-hours work, once training is complete.
Permanent employees have the opportunity to study towards the National Certificate in Sterilising Technology (Level 3), from the New Zealand Open Polytechnic; the cost of which will be met by the hospital, if not already attained.
