About the Role

As a Speech Language Therapist, you willwork with dysphagia and communication patients at Wairau Hospital  Work may include the inpatient, outpatient and community settings.  All work will be with adult patients.  There will be a wide range of aetiologies to cover, and strong generalist skills will be an advantage.  FEES (fibreoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing) skills would also be an advantage but not essential.  
This is a permanent role, working 24 hours per fortnight (0.3 FTE) Monday to Friday 7.30AM to 5.00PM. Hours to be discussed with the successful candidate.

About the Team/Service/ Location

You will join two other part-time speech-language therapists at Wairau Hospital, and be part of this team which provides inpatient, outpatient and community services to adult patients with speech-language therapy needs at Wairau Hospital and across the Marlborough region.  You will work closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team at Wairau Hospital.  You will also be part of the district-wide adult speech-language therapy team which includes five Nelson-based clinicians.

About you

As a Speech Language Therapist, you will:

·  Hold a relevant qualification in speech-language therapy that is recognised and approved by the New Zealand Speech-language Therapists’ Association (NZSTA).

·  Be a registered member with the NZSTA.

·  Hold a current full driver’s licence.

·  A minimum of two years’ experience in the hospital setting is preferred. 

 The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
