About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sonographer to join our Radiology team at Nelson Hospital on a permanent part‑time basis, working 24 hours per fortnight (0.3 FTE).
In this role, you will deliver a safe, high‑quality ultrasound service within a clinical environment, completing full examinations and recommending appropriate techniques to support patient care.
This position involves rostered and rotating shifts Monday to Sunday, with start and finish times between 8.00am and 9.00pm. There is no formal on‑call requirement, however best‑endeavours support may be required for acute criteria.

About you
You will bring:
- Experience across general, vascular, upper abdominal, obstetric, gynaecological, and musculo‑skeletal ultrasound
- Registration with the NZMRTB along with a current Annual Practising Certificate in Ultrasound
- Strong technical skills and sound clinical knowledge
- Well‑developed communication and critical‑thinking skills, with a commitment to family‑centred care
- The ability to work independently and as part of a small, supportive team
- A strong commitment to delivering high‑quality healthcare
You will also be adaptable, versatile, and comfortable working in a constantly changing clinical environment.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
