Rural Oncology Nurse 0.8FTE perm
Registered Nurse (Rural Oncology) Motueka
- Permanent 0.8 FTE role (64 hrs/fortnight) in a committed community oncology service.
- High‑impact rural oncology position in Motueka, supporting a diverse local population.
- Deliver coordinated cancer care for patients and whānau across the pathway.
- Work autonomously to navigate complex clinical and psychosocial needs in a rural setting.
- Partner with a connected MDT to provide seamless, culturally responsive care.

About the Role
The principle focus of this permanent 0.8FTE role is to provide holistic cancer nurse assessment, care, coordination and education to patients and whanau diagnosed with cancer.
About the Team/Location
Te Whatu Ora (Nelson Marlborough) is the main health provider for Te Tau Ihu, the top of the south. Nearly 3,000 strong, we are Nelson and Marlborough’s largest employer. Our main locations are Nelson and Wairau Hospitals, and the Richmond and Motueka Health Hubs, but we are spread across the region and service all parts of the community. About you
You will be a NZ registered nurse with excellent communication skills and advanced nursing practice, skill, knowledge and capability. You will have a desire to work with people, and their whanau, diagnosed and undergoing treatment for cancer. You will also bring the following:
- A current PDRP portfolio with or working towards Proficient or Expert level
- Ability and willingness to work within a wide multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to credentialing for administration of cytotoxic chemotherapy
- Good time management skills and ability to manage work in a planned and coordinated manner
- A current driving license with no endorsements.
