  • Permanent 0.75 FTE position working 60 hours a fortnight rotating roster Sunday to Monday.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Registered Nurse who would like to join our multi-disciplinary inpatient mental health team on a temporary basis. 

 Our service provides inpatient care for acute through to rehabilitation.

About you

  • You are a NZ Registered Nurse with the confidence to work autonomously and the resilience to manage a busy workload.
  • You are culturally aware and keen to reduce the barriers that make accessing services difficult for our Maori clients. 
  • You are driven to work in a pro-active manner and embrace change and development.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work across the Mental Health Inpatient Continuum

 Knowledge of:

  • Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act, 1992
  • PPPR Act - Welfare Guardian
  • Sensory Modulation Principles in Mental Health
  • Mental status examinations and risk assessments.
