Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Coordination Support


District-wide role located at Nelson Hospital

About the role

This busy role involves working collaboratively with the RMO team leader and coordinator by providing day-to-day administrative functions for the RMO unit.  

You will be responsible for supporting the Trainee Interns (TIs) education and orientation for Otago University and other professional bodies. This includes developing teaching programs and processing requests for training, accommodation, travel and annual leave. You will also assist with the development of the RMO orientation programme and road shows, liaise with the intern supervisor and GPs and assist with record management, meetings and reporting.  

You will also be responsible for liaising with students seeking medical elective placements and trainee interns completing necessary credentialing and placement requirements 

This is a part-time position, working 40 hours a fortnight (0.5FTE) for up to 12 months, covering parental leave from mid-late June 2019. 

About you

You will be an enthusiastic system and process orientated person who is flexible, innovative and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will be a positive self-motivated person with excellent interpersonal, organisational and computing skills and the ability to manage multiple demands while remaining clam under pressure. Knowledge of the health sector would be a distinct advantage. 

This role requires you to exercise an appropriate level of initiative and judgement in make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
