The Inpatient Unit at Wairau Hospital is a 47-bed unit with three nursing teams delivering quality patient care to Surgical, Medical and Rehabilitation patients.
Shifts are rostered and rotating Sunday to Monday across: AM 0645 – 1515, PM 1430 – 2300, Night 2230 -0700.
Current vacancies:
- permanent positions within the 0.6FTE up to full-time range i.e. working 48 to 80 hours a fortnight.
- parental leave 0.8FTE from August 2023 for up to 12 months.
- casual positions.

The full-time equivalent salary range if:
- a RN is appointed, is $66,570 up to $95,340
- an EN is appointed is $61,146 to $73,609
based on the current NZNO Nursing and Midwifery MECA, dependent on skills, experience and registration in NZ.
Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)
You will be a NZ Registered Nurse, or Enrolled Nurse, with a current NZNC practising certificate and post-registration nursing experience.
You will be a team player, who enjoys keeping up to date with clinical practice, with excellent organisational and time management skills and a commitment to quality.
Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed their primary course of two NZ approved COVID-19 vaccines as they have direct contact with patients and members of the public.
