About the Role
This role would suit a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has great assessment and time management skills, is confident in their practice, works autonomously and can relate well to a wide variety of stakeholders including patients, their families, our multidisciplinary team, and surgeons. Every day is different, and our nurses enjoy the variety, the people they interact with, and the challenge of giving each patient the best customer experience, whilst ensuring that everything runs to schedule.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Wairau Hospital Day Stay Unit is part of the perioperative department which includes
The Day Stay Unit is part of Wairau Hospital’s Perioperative Department, which includes:
- Five Operating Theatres
- A Recovery Room
- A Sterile Services Department
- The Day Stay Unit
The Day Stay Unit manages both surgical and medical patients. Staff shifts are variable, operating between 07:00 and 20:30, Monday to Friday.
About you
- You must be a NZ Registered Nurse with a current NZNC practising certificate
- You will ideally have at least two years post-registration nursing experience in either preadmissions, daystay and/or a surgical setting.
- You will also be a team player, who enjoys keeping up to date with clinical practice, with excellent organisational and time management skills and a commitment to quality.
