Nelson Hospital Theatre Suite consists of 6 Operating Theatres with a Recovery Room, a Sterile Services department and Endoscopy suite. We are a friendly and supportive team focusing on providing a caring and professional environment, delivering quality care and extended nursing practice. 

Surgical specialties covered include: General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dental, Acute/Trauma, Paediatrics, Plastics and Vascular. 

PACU and/or pain management experience is preferred, but is not essential, as training can be provided for the preferred candidate. 

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

You will be a NZ Registered Nurse with a current APC and ideally post registration experience working with a multi-disciplinary PACU team. You will have a positive attitude, an innovative and adaptable approach to practice, excellent communication skills and a real commitment to providing quality patient-centered care. You will also be a team player, who enjoys keeping up to date with clinical practice, with excellent organisational and time management skills.

Te Whatu Ora staff must have completed their primary course of NZ approved COVID-19 vaccines as they have direct contact with patients and members of the public.
