About the Role
Nelson Hospital’s Medical Admissions and Planning Unit (MAPU) delivers acute inpatient care to adults presenting with a broad range of medical and cardiac conditions. With a target length of stay of 36 hours, MAPU offers a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment where you’ll have excellent opportunities to apply and develop your clinical skills.
This role involves rostered, rotating shifts across seven days, providing variety and flexibility in your work schedule.
About the Team/Location
MAPU is a supportive, close-knit team of nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals who work collaboratively to deliver timely, high-quality care. With a strong focus on teamwork and communication, the unit provides a positive environment where everyone contributes to achieving the best outcomes for patients.
About you
You are a registered nurse with a current Nursing Council of New Zealand (NZNC) registration and practising certificate, and bring experience in medical, cardiac, or acute nursing.
You are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and thrive as part of a collaborative team. You take pride in staying up to date with best practice and are motivated to develop your clinical knowledge and skills.
