Radiology Clinical Assistant, Nelson Hospital, Permanent Part-time

About the Role

As a Radiology Clinical Assistant, you will help keep the department running efficiently by supporting patient flow and assisting staff with daily operational tasks, including:

  • Assisting with basic patient care and supervision
  • Transferring patients and safely moving beds and wheelchairs
  • Restocking linen
  • Basic administrative tasks and data entry
  • Cleaning equipment and maintaining clinical areas

While patient transport is part of the role, the main focus is on supporting Medical Imaging staff throughout the imaging process. Radiology is a fast‑paced, active environment with no downtime.

This is a permanent, part-time role working 48 hours per fortnight (0.6 FTE), Monday to Sunday between the hours of 7.00AM to 11.00PM.  No on-call is required.

The Radiology team at Nelson Hospital is a large, multidisciplinary service that provides imaging services across a wide range of modalities. We are passionate about delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care and work closely together to support one another in a busy clinical environment.

About you

You will have:

  • Knowledge of hospital or radiology settings (preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently
  • Good physical fitness
  • A patient‑focused approach and commitment to quality care

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
