About the Role
We have an opening for a physiotherapist who has a genuine interest for working with older patients who have complex geriatric and psychiatric needs You will working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing quality assessment and goal orientated interventions through a patient-centred approach. This role requires you to be adaptable to change, resourceful and flexible to service needs.
This role is a permanent part time position working 48 hours a fortnight (0.6 FTE) between Monday - Friday 8.00 AM & 4.30 PM.

About the Team/Service/ Location
The Older Persons’ Mental Health Inpatient Unit at Alexandra Hospital, provides psychiatric and geriatric care for the older members of our community. We aspire to provide high quality inpatient care to patients with acute mental health needs and/or complex age-related health conditions. We work in partnership with our patients, their families, the clinical team and community carers and supports to achieve the best possible health outcomes. We’re a great team who are passionate about mental health and delivering a high standard of care to tangata whai ora and whānau.

About you
As a Physiotherapist in our service , you will:
- Be someone with broad clinical knowledge and experience who values teamwork;
- Be an innovative and flexible thinker, motivated by excellent clinical outcomes;
- Be a NZ Registered Physiotherapist with comprehensive clinical assessment and problem-solving skills;
- Have the experience and ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively;
- Have excellent communication skills to liaise with health professionals and health agencies.
This role requires you to be adaptable to change, resourceful and flexible to service needs.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
