Pharmacy Technician
- Permanent part time Pharmacy Technician 0.5FTE (40 hours a fortnight).

About the Role
We are seeking an organised, motivated, and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our Nelson Hospital Pharmacy team. In this role, you will support the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality medication services across the hospital.
As a key member of our team, you
will work closely with pharmacists, supporting clinical workflows, the safe
preparation, supply, and management of medications for inpatient and outpatient
services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support dispensary operations, including the preparation, packing, and supply of medications
- Assist with medicines management across the hospital, including ward stock
- Maintain accurate medication records and contribute to safe dispensing workflows
- Manage stock levels, including ordering, receipting, storage, and rotation of medicines
- Support
compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
Working hours:
- Ideally Monday to Friday, 4-hour days, with flexibility to suit the appropriate candidate
- Contribution
to the Saturday morning service (9am–12pm) on a 1-in-7 roster
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Nelson Hospital Pharmacy Team is a dedicated group of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and interns who provide safe and effective medication management across hospital wards, outpatient services. The service is continuously growing and evolving to meet the needs of our community.
The team functions in a multidisciplinary setting, working closely with medical, nursing, and allied health teams to ensure optimal medication use and patient outcomes. Together, you’ll be part of a service experiencing growth and embracing professional development, making Nelson an exciting place to advance your hospital pharmacy career.

About you
You will be a qualified and NZ-registered Pharmacy Technician (or be eligible for registration), with:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to teamwork and providing high-quality service
- Experience
in a hospital pharmacy (preferred, but not essential)
