Pharmacy Technician, Fixed term


  • We are seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Wairau Hospital in beautiful Blenheim, Marlborough
  • This is a 6-month fixed-term full time role to cover parental leave, starting end July 2025

About the Role

As part of the Nelson Marlborough hospital pharmacy service, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including:

  • Dispensing and compounding medications
  • Managing inventory, ordering, and stock control
  • Supporting ward-based supply and distribution
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Working collaboratively with pharmacists and clinical teams to support safe medication practices

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our hospital pharmacy service supports both Wairau and Nelson Hospitals, working collaboratively to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care. At Wairau Hospital, our dedicated pharmacy team includes pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff who work closely with clinical services to provide dispensing, supply, medication reconciliation, and ward-based support.

About you

You will be a qualified and NZ-registered Pharmacy Technician (or be eligible for registration), with:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to teamwork and providing high-quality service
  • Experience in a hospital or community pharmacy (preferred, but not essential)

You will enjoy working in a well-organised and collegial environment where your skills are valued, and your professional growth is supported.
