Personal Assistant / Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Coordinator, Wairau Hospital, Permanent Full-time

About the Role

As a Personal Assistant / RMO Coordinator, you will provide day-to-day coordination and organisation of administrative functions for RMOs, working collaboratively with the RMO unit and team lead to provide a district-wide service. 

You will be responsible for building RMO rosters and looking after RMO requests for training, accommodation, travel and annual leave. In collaboration with the RMO team leader you will develop the RMO orientation programme and road shows, liaise with Intern Supervisors and assist in record management, meetings and reporting. This role gives you the opportunity to have a real impact on the Hospital by lifting the engagement and capability of the RMOs across the hospital.

You’ll also assist with secretarial tasks and general office administration, working alongside the Service Manager. You will be based at Wairau Hospital, Blenheim.

This is a permanent, full-time role combining two roles of 0.5 FTE to make up to 1.0 FTE, working 80 hours per fortnight. Start and Finish times are to be discussed.

About you

As a Personal Assistant / RMO Coordinator, you will have strong relationship management and organisational skills. Because this role is varied and multi-faceted you will be comfortable juggling a number of different tasks. Knowledge of the health sector, the hospital environment or recruitment and HR processes will help you succeed.

This role requires you to exercise initiative and judgement in make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.

We are looking for an experienced and energetic self-starter with confidence, a warm personality, a sense of humour, and a passion to make a real difference to enable our communities to live well, stay well and get well. You will bring several years of experience in a similar role ideally within the health sector, or other complex environment. 

Your communication skills will be second to none, so too your commitment to providing excellence and fantastic customer service.  You will display confidence in prioritising your own workflow and managing your deadlines. You will be working as part of a high performing team and will consistently display confidentiality and discretion. 

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ work visa at the time of applying.
