About the Role

As a Patient Safety Support Administrator, you’ll be a key member of our Clinical Governance Support team and will be responsible for:

  • coordinating the management of privacy breaches,
  • supporting the consumer complaints process alongside the feedback coordinator, and
  • supporting the processing of police requests,
  • ensuring timely and accurate responses to these external agencies in line with organisational policies and legislation.

You will support the smooth running of the Clinical Governance Support team to meet legislative requirements. You’ll be liaising between local teams, regional and national stakeholders dealing with complaints and feedback, privacy and police matters.

This is a permanent, part time role working 48 hours per fortnight (0.6 FTE) over 5 days/week. It would suit someone who is happy to work shortened hours over the week and there is flexibility around this. No on-call work is required.

The starting salary for the role is $86,990 per annum pro rata depending on skills and experience.

About you

As a Patient Safety Support Administrator, you will:

  • Have a solid understanding of the Privacy Act (2020), Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights and legislation around release of information processes,
  • Be able to prioritise competing demands
  • Display a strong customer focus with a warm and welcoming approach,
  • Be sensitive / tactful, reliable and emotionally mature, with demonstrated experience managing confidential and sensitive information
  • Be able to maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and external  agencies,
  • Have a high attention to detail and strong written communication abilities
  • Have experience in deescalating and diffusing difficult situations, as well as complaints resolution.
  • Hold a drivers license (essential).

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
