We have a number of casual positions available, with flexible hours, working as either an Orderly, or as a Patient Support and Security Worker, or potentially working across both roles. 

About the roles

Our Orderlies support patient care by safely moving patients and items around the hospital at the right time to the right place in a courteous, professional and well-presented manner.

Our Patient Support and Security Workers provide a welcoming and save environment for both our Emergency Department and Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit. An important aspect of this role is the ability to de-escalate tense situations and assist in providing a safe and secure environment.

Casual positions typically cover staff leave and periods of peak demand. It is important to note that casual work does not guarantee regular minimum hours of work. These positions are a great gateway opportunity for the right applicants to move into permanent work.Ideally you will have the flexibility to work across morning, day and evening shifts of varying lengths to assist us to meet our service needs.

You will be passionate about delivering a quality service, be an excellent communicator, and be able to manage your time effectively. You will also have the ability to relate with ease to people from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds. A clean driver’s licence is essential for the orderly role.

Due to the nature of these roles you must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. It is essential that you are physically fit and active. Previous experience as a Hotel Porter, Orderly or Security Worker would be advantageous, but is not essential as training will be provided to the preferred applicants.
