About the Role
As an Orderly in the Emergency Department, you will provide patient care by safely moving patients and items around the hospital in a courteous , professional and well-presented manner. Your presence will contribute to the effective day-to-day operations within the department.
This is a permanent role working 24/7 rotational roster Monday – Sunday.
No on-call is required.
In addition to hourly rates, we pay penal rates for evening and weekend work, and additional payments/time off if you are rostered to work on a public holiday.

About you
As an Orderly in the Emergency Department, you will:
- be an excellent communicator who is passionate about delivering a quality service,
- be efficient and able to manage your time effectively,
- have a clean driver’s licence is essential.
Additionally, you must:
- be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time,
- be physically fit and active with knowledge of heaving lifting techniques,
- have a clean driver’s licence (essential),
Hotel / Porter / Orderly or Security worker experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
