About the Role

As an Occupational Health & Wellbeing Nurse, you willprovide specialist advice to managers, staff and our HR team on the health and wellbeing of our DHB workforce. This role coordinates and supports the safe return to work for staff who suffer an injury or illness. You will consult and advise on occupational health monitoring for workplace hazards and risks.

This role offers flexible hours, ideal for those seeking school-hour work or needing weekday flexibility. You will be working 40 hours per fortnight (0.5 FTE). This role is fixed term until June 2025.

About the Team/Service/ Location

You'll be joining a team of 4 within a supportive environment where our Occupational Health Team prioritizes employee well-being and provides comprehensive health support. This includes: injury prevention and management, health promotion, Respiratory Illness Support (RIS), workplace and task assessments (both physical and psychological), employee training (including moving/handling and stress management), return-to-work planning, physical and mental health assessments (individual, group, workshops, crisis intervention, education, and programs), and  manager support.

About you

As an Occupational Health & Wellbeing Nurse, you will have a passion for the health and safety of our people, and want to partner with our business leaders to grow organisational capability.  You will be a currently registered nurse with experience in health safety and wellbeing in a complex organisation.

Whilst this role is based in Nelson, this position will require travel across the Nelson Marlborough district.
