About the Team/Service/ Location
Our midwifery team is awesome! We are very proud of the service we provide to our communities. Our midwifery led service has close collegial relationships with our Obstetric and Paediatric teams.
The team not only enjoys a positive work environment in an active NZCOM region – we also love to get together for social activities. We can guarantee you’ll receive a very warm welcome into our teams! We encourage a workforce that’s innovative, eager to learn and enhance their skills, and passionate about caring for our community. We do great work, and we need a talented and diverse team to help us deliver.
As a part of your first year of practice programme you may have the opportunity to consolidate your practice in a variety of maternity settings. As a part of your first year, you may also get to experience specialist clinics and other opportunities depending on what you would like to focus on. This means you could get to experience all areas of midwifery to find out what you love the most.
When undertaking these opportunities, we will support you with accommodation and travel as a unique part of our Midwifery First Year of Practice programme you get to experience the best of Te Tau Ihu!
About you
- You will have loads of passion and a commitment to women centred and culturally respectful care.
- As a recent or new graduate, who meets the Midwifery Council and NZCOM enrolment requirements for the Midwifery First year of Practice programme (MFYP), we will assist your transition to practice through a comprehensive New Graduate Midwifery programme which includes: a full orientation, access to midwifery educator and clinical coach support, and a range of clinical experiences across a variety of midwifery settings to help prepare you to become a confident midwifery practitioner.
- As a midwife you will be able to use all your clinical and organisational skills and expertise across pregnancy, birthing and postnatal care. Shift will be rostered across AM, PM and Nights working 8-hour shifts.
