About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager to join our team in Older Persons Mental Health and lead the development and delivery of high-quality mental health services for older adults. You will manage a multidisciplinary team in both Inpatient and Community and work closely with stakeholders to ensure that services are person-centred, evidence-based, and aligned with best practices in mental health care. Reporting to the General Manager – Mental Health and Addictions, you will work as a key leader influencing our staff by achieving high qualify clinical outcomes and patient centred care across Health NZ Nelson Marlborough.
This is a district-wide position where you will be working 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE) based in Richmond Nelson.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our team of clinicians aspireto provide high quality community and inpatient care to patients with acute and/or complex mental health needs. We work in partnership with our patients, their families, the clinical team, and community carers and supports to achieve the best possible health outcome for the patient.
The Older Persons’ Mental Health Team is based at Alexandra Hospital in Richmond, provides psychiatric and geriatric care for the older members of our community with a 10-bed inpatient Unit and Community based services.

About you
As a Manager, you will be highly motivated and committed to the ongoing development of Mental Health services, with :
- A professional qualification e.g., nursing, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, with current NZ Registration.
- Experience working in the field of older persons mental health.
- Commitment to patient centred care and service delivery
- Experience working in the Mental Health & Addictions field with knowledge of mental health conditions affecting older adults, including dementia, depression, and anxiety.
- Proven track record in leading and driving quality health service provision, outcomes and performance
