About the Role

As an ICU Registrar, you will provide support to other departments requiring an outreach / critical care service need.

We have 7x full-time positions fixed term for 6 months (1.0 FTE). The hours are Monday to Friday 0800 to 1600 with handover at 1500.  Monday to Friday midshift 1500 to 2300 with handover at 2200.  Monday to Friday night shift 2200 to 0800 with handover at 0800.  Saturday and Sunday day shift 0800 to 2030 with handover at 2000.  Saturday and Sunday night shift 2000 to 0800 with handover at 0800.  Public holidays have both a day 0800 to 1600 and a midshift 1500 to 2300 shift.

About the Team/Service/ Location

You’ll be joining our multi-disciplinary team working in intensive care led by a mix of intensivists and anaesthetists with an ICU interest. You will be working within a secondary care setting participating in the Intensive Care roster, including supporting the PAR (Patient at Risk) service.  The ICU is currently working towards training accreditation from CICM.

About you

As an ICU Registrar, you will be registered with the NZ Medical Council and have minimum of PGY3 with minimum 2 year’s experience.  We are looking for those who are ready to bring their skills and experience to a smaller provincial hospital and enjoy the lifestyle that this affords.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or be able to obtain a visa to work in NZ.
