- Penal rates apply for nights (25%) and weekends (50%) as well as public holidays (100%)

About the position/Nga mohiohio e pa ana ki tenei mahi
We are looking for flexible entry level and experienced household staff to be join our team. This role is a great way to learn how a hospital works and get a foot in the door to a world of opportunities.
You will be part of the team that contributes to the hospital running smoothly, whatever the time of day or day of the year. You will make our hospital a place where people can get better safely, families can visit in comfort, and staff can do great work in a hygienic and safe environment.
The roles involve thorough cleaning throughout the wards, operating theatres, public areas and offices, as well as changing beds, and laundry and rubbish collection. You may also do the tea rounds, have contact with patients and support the nursing and orderly staff.
Casual roles: No day is the same. As a casual housekeeper you will be working across all areas in the hospital, covering a wide range of shifts, on an as required basis. With 50 household staff in our team, we often need cover for annual and other leave.
positions - at the time of advertising, we have the following positions available:
Permanent 0.75 FTE position working 60 hours a fortnight.
- Shift: Monday to Friday 5.00PM to 11:30PM.
Permanent 0.5 FTE working 40 hours a fortnight.
- Shift: Monday to Friday 3.00PM to 7.00PM.
Permanent 0.375 FTE working 30 hours a fortnight.
- Shift: Monday to Friday 4.00PM to 7.00PM at Alexandra Hospital in Richmond.
Permanent 0.2 FTE working 16 hours a fortnight.
- Shift: Saturday and Sunday 3.00PM to 7.00PM.
FTE stands for Full-Time Equivalent. E.G. 0.5FTE equals half of a full-time position.

In addition to hourly rates, we pay penal rates for evening and weekend work, Kiwisaver and additional payments/time off if you are rostered to work on a public holiday. You will also be supported to get your qualification in Cleaning (NZQA Level 2 & 3).

These available positions would suit people with experience in cleaning/customer service OR people with no experience but a passion for being part of one of New Zealand’s fastest growing sectors and see how a hospital ticks. To be successful in this role you must be reliable, have a positive attitude and consistently deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service. Full training will be provided.
For the health and safety of staff and patients you are required to provide proof that you have completed your first two NZ approved Covid-19 vaccinations.
