Household Cleaner – Radiology, Nelson Hospital, Permanent Part-time

About the Role

As a Household Cleaner in the Radiology department, you will help the hospital run smoothly by providing an efficient cleaning service for the patients and staff at Nelson Hospital.

Types of duties are - but not limited to:

  • Mopping the floors using specific equipment which training is provided to use;
  • Cleaning offices, bathrooms and ward rooms;
  • Assisting other staff as requested.
Help the hospital stay a safe place where families can visit in comfort and staff can continue doing great work in a clean environment.


In addition to hourly rates, we pay penal rates for evening (after 8.00PM) and weekend work, and additional payments/time off if you are rostered to work on a public holiday.

This is a permanent part-time role, working 16 hours per fortnight (0.2 FTE) Saturday and Sunday 4.00PM to 8.00PM. There is no-call.

About you

You will be suited to the role of Household Cleaner, if you have experience in cleaning or customer service OR if you have no experience but a passion for seeing how the hospital ticks.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work; someone who can leave the hospital cleaned to a standard that leaves a positive impression on customers, patients and families.

Full training will be provided.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
