About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant in our Medical Unit, you will work alongside our nursing team to provide essential support to patients and staff. Your responsibilities include assisting with care delivery, one-to-one patient watches, and other tasks as directed. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn, grow, and develop your skills in a supportive environment.
About the Team
Our Medical Unit is a 30-bed ward covering all medical specialties, located on Level 4 of Nelson Hospital. We pride ourselves on our strong team culture and high standards of care. You’ll work closely with an interdisciplinary team and benefit from the guidance of an experienced nurse educator and clinical coach who support ongoing professional development.

We’re looking for someone who:

Essential Qualifications:
- Year 11 NCEA Level 1 English (or equivalent)
- Year 11 NCEA Level 1 Maths (or equivalent)
Desirable:
- NZQA Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
- Home Carer Certificate (or equivalent)
