About the Role
As an Emergency Medicine Advanced Registrar, you will assist in delivering Emergency Medicine to patients working across a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for assessment, treatment and disposition of patients.
Some non-ED runs may be available and include Cardiology, Orthopaedics and General Medicine. There will be emergency roster shift patterns – AM, mid, PM and night shifts plus weekend shifts.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Emergency Department (ED) currently sees over 31,000 patients per year and is accredited for 6 months of Rural/Regional training by ACEM. The case mix is varied and covers the entire spectrum of emergency medicine including trauma and paediatrics.
You will join a highly motivated and experienced team that includes seven emergency physicians and experienced ED senior medical officers, dedicated nursing staff and allied health.

About you
As an Emergency Medicine Advanced Registrar, you will:
- need to be Advanced Trainees registered with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine,
- hold valid registration or be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ),
- have commitment to providing ethical treatment,
- be able to collaborate with other colleagues,
- have excellent time management,
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
