Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)
Why come to the Nelson/Tasman region? New midwifery staff are saying “We love the pace of life, the climate, the beauty of the region and the team is wonderful to work with!"
We are looking for NZ registered midwives with loads of passion and commitment to join our maternity team. You will be rostered across AM, PM and Nights with the choice of 8-hour or 12-hour shifts.
Nelson Hospital is a secondary level maternity unit with approximately 900-1,000 births per year. The core, community and LMC midwives work as a team with our Obstetric, Anaesthetic and Paediatric colleagues.
The Motueka Maternity Unit is a primary birthing and postnatal care unit with around 40-50 births a year and around 140 postnatal transfers from Nelson. The unit provides highly regarded postnatal care working in partnership with whānau and LMC’s to provide whānau centred care.
We can promise that your core midwifery role will be busy and varied – so no two days will be the same. The best thing is that our service is midwifery led so you will get to be a midwife practicing in all the areas you love!
Current vacancies:
- Motueka Maternity Unit - permanent 0.75FTE (60 hours per fortnight).
- Nelson Hospital - permanent 0.9FTE (72 hours per fortnight).
** Please indicate which position (s) you wish to be considered for via your covering letter. **
