About the Role
Our Community Psychogeriatric team provide assessments, support and education visits in the community to assist people and those supporting them to manage their conditions in their normal environments including aged residential facilities.
You will have a passion for and belief in the value of contribution in working with the elderly, their families and caregivers, with the ability to relate to and negotiate relationships with a wide variety of people across a wide range of practice settings.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Older Person’s Mental Health is growing and developing service providing physical and mental health professional development opportunities for the right applicant. You will be joining a great team that values teamwork and is committed to supporting the best possible health outcomes for our elderly patients. You will work alongside our multidisciplinary team consisting of specialist nurses, health care assistants, occupational therapist, physio, social worker, psychiatrist and psychologist.
About you
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:
- Registered Comprehensive Nurse
- Have experience in providing education on specialist topics both formally and informally
- Post graduate qualifications
- Through experience and ongoing post graduate education has attained advanced knowledge of the ageing process and age-related health conditions and disabilities
- Is confident in utilising advanced nursing knowledge and skills to work with clients with complex mental and physical health needs, as a senior member of the healthcare team.
- Is confident assessing the need for and delivering needs-based training to a variety of health professionals
If you are a current NZ Registered Nurse experienced in advanced nursing practice in Psychogeriatric care and interested in taking a clinical leadership role in a small specialist team, we welcome your application.
