About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join our inter-professional team, based at Nelson Hospital, in our Emergency Department & Medical Admission and Planning unit.
Working in partnership with Service Managers and Clinical Directors you will be responsible for patient-centred, safe, efficient and effective service delivery within your areas of responsibility.
This position is permanent, full time, reporting to the Associate Director of Nursing / Operations Manager, Nelson Hospital with a professional line to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery.

About you
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated and culturally competent nurse with advanced clinical knowledge and expertise and proven leadership experience. Of particular focus will be family-centered, culturally appropriate and safe care delivery, along with a strong focus on workforce management and quality improvement.
You will have a strong record of transformational leadership, clinical mentorship, effective change management and a commitment to excellence in patient care. You will be part of an effective senior nursing team developing and leading models of care, process, policy and guidelines relating to this patient group.
You will bring:
- Commitment to patient-centred care and service delivery
- Expert senior nursing leadership experience and skills
- Ability to function at a high level in the contemporary New Zealand health environment
- Current New Zealand Nursing Council registration as a Registered Nurse
- Post graduate qualifications in leadership, or management relevant to the required scope of practice for a CNM
- Flexibility and rigour in critical clinical analysis
- Evidence based decision making.
