About the Role
We are looking for an adaptable and energetic experienced Charge Nurse Manager for a permanent 1FTE position located in a rural setting, Murchison.
The position is 8 hours shifts worked Monday to Friday between 0700-1700. You will also be required to be part of the staffing for the out of hours on-call PRIME roster with the other nursing and GP team. Therefore, current PRIME certification is essential for this position. Applicants with previous PRIME experience will be offered support to update their qualification so should also apply.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Murchison is a rural service town, with a permanent population of approximately 1100, located half- way between Nelson and Westport (1.5 hours travel in either direction). During the summer Murchison becomes a destination for holiday makers seeking the great outdoors. Activities on offer include great fishing, rafting, walking, white water kayaking, jet boating and mountain biking.
Murchison Hospital & Health Centre is a small integrated rural health service providing a raft of health services including emergency medical and accident services 24/7, general primary care practice, and elderly residential care extending to palliative and respite care when needed.
About you
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated, and culturally competent nurse leader. You will have advanced clinical knowledge and expertise, PRIME certification is desired and sound appreciation of the details in managing staff and coordinating resources in an environment that is sometimes pressured. Of particular focus will be family-centred, culturally appropriate and safe care delivery, with a strong emphasis on quality improvement.
You will have a strong record of transformational leadership, clinical mentorship, effective change management and a commitment to excellence in patient care. You will be part of an effective senior nursing team developing and leading models of care, process, policy, and guidelines relating to this client group.
