About the Role
We are looking for a positive, adaptable, and solution-focused Charge Nurse Manager to take on a key operational and nursing leadership role across Nelson and Wairau Hospital and Specialist Services.
This is a full-time Monday to Friday position typically working between 0700 and 1700. Some flexibility may be required to meet service needs. The role is based in Nelson with some travel to Wairau.
This role offers the opportunity to focus on capacity and patient flow, to support nursing excellence, and to contribute to the delivery of high-quality care across the district.
About the Team/Service
The CNM leads the Duty Nurse Manager teams, Variance Response teams, and the Inter Hospital Transport team. This role requires:
- Decision making in a complex dynamic environment: the CNM must make timely, informed decisions based on evolving clinical situations, using advanced assessment skills, sound clinical judgement, and consideration of patient/whanau needs and the broader system context.
- Resource Optimisation: The CNM is accountable for allocating resources effectively to enhance patient experience and meet health system targets.
- Leadership and communication: The CNM is an excellent communicator who fosters a positive team culture, enabling individuals to perform at their best and contribute to high quality care delivery.
