About the Role

As an Anaesthetics Registrar, you will be responsible for the delivery of anaesthesia care to patients from the Nelson and Blenheim communities. You will be a part of a multidisciplinary team and will receive supervision as well as attend educational activities.

The working hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm daily. On call requirements will vary depending on the level of training of the successful candidate.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Nelson Hospital is accredited to provide 52 weeks of anaesthesia training within the Central Anaesthesia Training Rotation.

About you

As anAnaesthetics Registrar, you:

  • must have completed two years of general hospital experience after graduating from medical school (before you can apply to start training as a specialist anaesthetist),
  • need to be registered with the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA),
  • need have been successfully appointed to the Central Anaesthesia Training Rotation
  • will have excellent interpersonal skills both verbally and written,
  • will have excellent time management & organisation,
  • will work collaboratively with other teams and patients ,

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
