About the Role

As an Administrative Support in ED, you will cover the department on a 24 hour/7 days a week basis, rostered across early, late and night shifts. We are looking for applicants who enjoy the variety of shift work, and who are happy to work on a rostered and rotating basis. No shift will be the same!  During the training phase it will be important that you are available to train across all shifts. You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team including doctors, nurses, other clinical professionals and administration staff.

Your primary responsibility will be for reception and administration duties to enable the smooth flow of patients through the department, including ensuring patient documentation is maintained and up to date.  

Hours are on an as required basis.

ED shifts:

Early

06.45 – 15.15 hours 

07.45 – 16.15 hours

09.30 – 18.00 hours

Late

15.00 – 23.30 hours

Night

23.00 – 07.00 hours

About the Team/Service/ Location

In this role, you will be able to apply your attention to detail, skill for data management and accuracy in supporting our clinical staff in accessing vital patient clinical content which saves lives and improves our patient’s care journey.

About you

As an Administrative Support in ED, you’ll need to have a positive attitude, friendly customer service and reception skills, as well as the ability to quickly learn new tasks and multi-task efficiently in a stressful clinical environment.

It’s essential to have:

  • previous administration experience
  • a strong degree of computer literacy
  • the ability to work autonomously
  • the flexibility to work across early, late and night shifts. 

Experience with hospital management systems and knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous.
