Acute Clinician - Community Mental Health

Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

Our Adult Community Mental Health teams provide high-quality comprehensive assessment and treatment for adults and their families living in the Nelson/Tasman region. We enjoy a team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour and respect across disciplines. 

As an Acute Clinician you will work a 24/7 rotating roster responding to clients in crisis. This will include overnight on call and receiving triaged referrals from Whakarongorau Aotearoa, Health NZ Nelson Marlborough Triage Service, and assessment of acute presentations in response to referrals from ED, GPs and Police.

Shifts are rostered (four days on, two days off over a 6 week cycle), with rostered on call between 11.30PM to 8.00AM.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

You will be a mental health professional with the confidence to work autonomously and the resilience to manage a mixed case load. You will have current knowledge of mental health and associated issues and addictions clinical experience is also desirable.  Whilst we are looking for an experienced practitioner - we also recruit for attitude. 

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
