About the role
Nelson Marlborough Health’s (NMH’s)
Mental Health and Addictions Service is seeking two Specialist Psychiatrist
working 0.8 – 1.0FTE (negotiable). You will join our highly effective team and
perform vital work across our inpatient and community services. The
position would be based in the Nelson region serving a population of
approximately 100,000. Staffing includes: 7 Psychiatrists, 4 Medical
Officers/Registrars.
Suitable
interested applicants could also be considered for the Clinical Director Mental
Health & Addictions (0.2 FTE) and/or Director Area Mental Health Services
(DAMHS) role (0.1 FTE).
About us
Our well-developed community
psychiatric services include a community mental health team, with 24 hour acute
intervention, general adult, child and adolescent, older persons and addiction
medicine. Inpatient care is provided through an onsite 26 bed inpatient
unit with IPC facilities.
About you
Applicants must hold Fellowship of the
Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent, and
be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate and vocational registration
with the New Zealand Medical Council. Experience in consult liaison
psychiatry would be an advantage but not essential.
