Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists (Nelson Hospital)

Location: Medical Admissions and Planning Unit (MAPU)

  • Two new permanent positions
  • Opportunity to be co-located alongside a range of allied & other health professionals
  • Work alongside clients throughout their health journey
  • Move to the desirable Nelson/Tasman region

About the role

Nelson Hospital is opening a Medical Admissions and Planning Unit (MAPU) on the 1st of July. The unit will allow patients with medical conditions to be assessed by a multidisciplinary team so that a comprehensive care plan can be put in place. This will improve the patient experience, ensure that investigations and treatments are quicker and decrease hospital stay. Working in this 10 bed unit will use all your skills, with daily learning opportunities.

We are looking for two Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists who have a genuine passion for working alongside clients in the acute medical setting, to facilitate a smoother health journey, and be part of this new initiative. These roles will require you to be adaptable to change, resourceful and flexible to service needs.

We have a total of 1.6FTE available, covering a 7 days service, (allowing some crossover time). The roles could potentially be split as one full time staff member working 80 hours a fortnight (1.0FTE) and one part time appointment working 48 hours a fortnight (0.6FTE), or as two part time roles.

N.B.  It would be helpful if you could indicate your preferred FTE/hours per fortnight in your covering letter.
