Physiotherapist –Outpatients
Join a dedicated and skilled team within the Physiotherapy services at Nelson Hospital

This fixed-term, part time role is an excellent opportunity for a Physiotherapist to provide support to our Outpatient services. Ideally you will have skills in pelvic health or neurological/medical rehabilitation. As part of our team, you will work in a collaborative setting, sharing expertise and resources to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients. You will play a key role in assessing, planning, and delivering individualised treatment programs. Additionally, you will support a variety of outpatient cases, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic and effective care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver tailored treatments.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans focused on improving patients’ mobility, function, and quality of life.
- Educate patients and their families on managing symptoms, self-care techniques, and preventative practices.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and other physiotherapists, to ensure cohesive care.
- Maintain up-to-date records and provide accurate documentation for continuity of care.
The working hours are negotiable between 6am-8pm Monday to Friday with on-call and weekend cover required if you have current acute care skills.

The full-time equivalent salary range for this position is $77,087 to $107,600 (step1-7) based on the PSA Allied Public Health and Technical Collective Agreement, dependent on skills and experience.

- New Zealand Registration, with a current practising certificate
- Demonstrated experience in pelvic health or neuro/medical outpatient physiotherapy.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
